Events like pandemics and economic crises always bring revolutionary changes to various areas of life. These latter have radically changed, among other things, the way office spaces are perceived. Remote work, which just a few years ago was the domain of only a few modern industries, has become commonplace for many businesses. This applies to both large corporations and small, family-owned businesses. Consequently, the demand for large-scale office space is decreasing, and the need for alternative solutions is emerging. An office container with a toilet could be a great solution. It's not only affordable, but also mobile and compact – and small spaces are currently the most desirable.
Why is it worth choosing an office container with a toilet instead of a traditional office
Due to their advantages, such as ease of installation, short construction time, and relatively low cost, office containers are an excellent choice for many companies. Various sizes are available on the market. Importantly, as the company grows or more employees need to return to in-person work, the office can also be easily expanded.
Low costs
Constructing your own office building is time-consuming and very expensive. Rental prices in office centers, especially in large cities, are also not low and become a fixed monthly expense. In smaller towns, the lack of available attractive office space may be an additional cost.
An office container with a toilet is an excellent alternative to both construction and rental space. It's inexpensive to purchase and maintain. Pavilions as small as 6 m² are available on the market , making them a good option, for example, if the office will be used only occasionally by employees and may be rotating. It's worth remembering that renting an office container is also possible . Although this involves a fixed cost, it's significantly lower than the price of space elsewhere.
Expandable
Office containers with toilets, like other similar structures, are modular. Therefore, the company's headquarters can be expanded with additional modules at any time. Interestingly, expansion is possible not only horizontally but also "vertically," meaning upwards. Containers offered by reputable manufacturers can be stacked. To achieve this, they must have a suitable structure. It's worth ensuring that the selected office container with toilet is constructed to a high standard. The frame must be made of 4 mm thick cold-formed sections, while the final stability of the building is ensured by columns bolted to the upper and lower frames (also made of durable sections, preferably cold-formed). Only such a durable structure allows for stacking. This is an interesting option, as it allows for larger office space on a smaller plot of land and can be divided into zones: for example, a meeting area for clients on the ground floor and workspaces on the first floor.

Short lead time and easy assembly
An important argument for dynamically operating entrepreneurs is the fact that an office container with a toilet does not require a lengthy process of obtaining building consent. When meeting the conditions set out in the construction law (Article 29(1)), it is enough to notify the relevant authority, most often the District Office.
The office "construction" process itself is also short. The first, and often longest, stage is developing the design and selecting the necessary equipment. Choosing to work with an experienced manufacturer can shorten this stage, as the contractor's experts will provide optimal advice on the best options. Once the design is ready, all that's left is to order and wait for implementation. At the final location for the office container with toilet, all that's left is to prepare the foundation from pre-prepared foundation blocks, which takes no more than a day. It's also worth installing the appropriate electrical and plumbing systems in the meantime. The facility is erected on the foundations using a crane or HDS, and the process takes just a few minutes.
Office container with toilet and health and safety regulations
The conditions that must be met by a workplace, regardless of industry, are specified in the Regulation of the Minister of Labor and Social Policy on general occupational health and safety regulations, paragraph 15: " Workplaces and their furnishings should provide employees with safe and hygienic working conditions. In particular, workspaces should provide natural and artificial lighting, appropriate temperature, air exchange, and protection against moisture, unfavorable thermal conditions and sunlight, vibrations, and other factors harmful to health and nuisance."
The above regulations specify the requirements for office space, and a properly selected office container with a toilet will meet them without any problems.
Basic requirement: sanitary and social facilities
Every employer, in accordance with the aforementioned regulations, is obligated to provide employees with appropriate working conditions, including by providing dedicated social facilities . The design of such facilities depends on many factors, including the number of people who will use the office and the type of work performed.
For example, if the office will be solely a workspace and unplanned visits from outside guests are not permitted, the kitchen area might consist of a cupboard, an electric kettle, and a microwave. The situation is completely different for offices whose primary function is representative and welcoming clients. Here, the kitchen must also accommodate a coffee machine, a refrigerator, and more space for storing tableware.
The design of the bathroom area also depends on the office's intended use and the number of employees. A toilet with a sink is perfectly adequate for a small office for several people performing sedentary work. However, it won't be suitable if the container is to serve as an office for a team on the construction site of a large housing estate – in such a case, a washroom area with a shower is mandatory.
Lighting in an office container with a toilet
It's impossible to ensure comfortable work without natural light. High-quality office containers not only come standard with optimally sized windows, but their manufacturers also offer the option of varying their number, size, and location depending on the individual project. It's worth choosing a container equipped with modern, airtight PVC joinery to more easily meet another regulatory requirement: ensuring the appropriate temperature. When choosing artificial lighting, it's best to choose a container equipped with LED lamps. These light colors are close to natural light, which is better for the eyes, especially when working at a computer. Furthermore, they consume minimal electricity.
Interior comfort: temperature, air exchange, protection against moisture
Each room where people are present must be provided with appropriate conditions. The key factors for comfort are temperature, proper ventilation and air humidity. They are strongly interrelated, and keeping them at an optimal level depends on the construction and insulation of the building, in this case the office.
Any facility intended to function as an office must be year-round, and therefore well-insulated. Reliable manufacturers of office containers use mineral wool combined with a vapor barrier for this purpose. For the insulation to be effective, the mineral wool should be approximately 100 mm thick. The next layer of insulation should be a laminated board mounted on the inside of the container. An important element of an office container with a toilet is the roof, which must also be insulated. Similarly to the walls, mineral wool is used with a foil barrier. Good quality insulation is crucial, as it not only provides warmth in winter but also ensures that the room doesn't become excessively hot in summer.
Will an office container with a toilet work in any industry?
A company headquarters in a container is an excellent solution, regardless of the industry. It's certainly best suited as a first office for a startup or for companies with a small workforce. However, the modular design of containers offers virtually unlimited possibilities for space scalability, so even large enterprises can benefit from them.
An office container with a toilet is an unconventional space, and therefore it will work well in creative industries, e.g. as the headquarters of an advertising agency or a design office. It is also an inexpensive space, so it will be suitable for micro-companies, for example, from the accounting or insurance industry, where a place to meet clients is needed, and usually 2-3 people are employed. In addition, it is a mobile building - ideal for the seasonal services industry or broadly understood construction companies.
